Contact lense care
Contact lense care is very important and often not taken as seriously as it should be. If contacts are cleaned regularly and maintained, then they are a great subtle form of vision correction. If contacts are not taken care of regularly, contacts will build up protiens that are potentially harmful to your eyes. Your eyes can suffer corneal scarring or other conditions if contact lense care is lacking.
There are a few things you can do to make contact lenses care easy and simple. First is to get a solution specifically for contacts (I strongly recommend a “no-rub” solution produced by Renu or Express). This alleviates much of the hassles usually involved with contact lense care. Next it is important to get a routine down. Always clean your contacts before you put them in and immediately after you remove them. This is super easy if you use one of the solutions I recommended. All you have to do is rinse them off. It is also important to clean your contact case every time you put your lenses away to avoid protein build-up. Do not use soap and water for cleaning your contact case. Most contact cases have a special coating that is non-abrasive to your contacts. Most soaps are “hard” on that coating and could potentially remove it.
Remember to make contact lense care a priority and it will make your contact wearing experience a pleasant one.
